For a great activity and fun treat make a fruit flower bouquet.
- Use cookie cutters to create flower shapes out of cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelon.
- Use a melon baller to make contrasting center balls.
- Tread the ball, then the melon flower and an additional ball onto the bottom to hold the flower on top on to a skewer.
- Add fresh sprigs of mint for the foliage and place in a basket, vase or cup.
Try this refreshing fruit smoothie packed with vitamins and protein for a tasty breakfast or after school snack.
Combine 2 cups of ice, 2 oz. of silken tofu (it has a texture similar to yogurt or pudding), 1 medium banana, 1 cup strawberries (hulled and quartered), 1/3 cup vanilla yogurt, 1/4 cup apple juice, 2 tablespoons honey and 1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg in a blender. Process until all ingredients are smooth and serve.
